We had a wonderfrul visit to Baksei Chamkrong Temple just outside of Siem Reap Cambodia.
Baksei Chamkrong means “The Bird Who Shelters Under Its Wings”. Baksei Chmkrong is a Hindu temple dedicated to the Lord Shiva and was built in the 10th century (968). The temple is 4 sided with a step pyramid style single tower reaching 12 meters (40 feet) tall with very steep stairs on all 4 sides. It is very easy to get to as you will pass it on your way from Angkor Wat to the South Gate Entrance to Angkor Thom. If you have a chance to stop you really should as it is a beautiful temple that is rarely visited by tour groups so you could have a chance at a more serene temple experience.
