We gave ourselves a holiday treat and spent the day at the Kuala Lumpur Botanical Gardens and truly enjoyed the peacefulness of the Butterfly Park. It is filled with beautiful tropical plants, pathways and of course butterflies.

The Kuala Lumpur butterfly park located inside the Perdana Botanical Gardens and is over 80,000 sq ft of landscaped garden with over 5,000 live butterflies and exotic plants.

Open daily from 9:00am – 6:00 p.m.

By Bus-Rapid KL Bus No. B115 from Kotaraya to Jalan Parlimen 

By Rail KTM Commuter Train : Disembark at the KTM Old Railway Kuala Lumpur Station (KA02) located near the National Mosque.

KL Hop-On-Hop-Off bus : disembark at Station No. 14 in front of KL Bird Park Main Entrance.

Buses available at every 30 to 45 minutes interval.

Perdana Botanical Garden Kuala Lumpur was established in 1888 and is huge at approximately 226 acres of amazing gardens explore. The gardens are for public use with free entry and open 7am-8pm.

It is quite easy to get to by public transportation.  Just take the Metro to the National Museum and follow the signs. Once you exit the metro you will be facing the National Museum.  Turn toward the left and follow the sidewalk to the entrance to the gardens.  You will enter at the bottom of the gardens near the lake. 

The Botanical Garden is divided into sections Forest Tree Collection, Zingiberales & Heliconia Collection, Exotic Species Collection, Laman Perdana, Cycad Island, Sunken Garden, Name of Places Tree Collection, Herb & Spice Garden, Brownea Street, Deer Park, Hibiscus Garden, Orchid Garden, Herarium and also the Planetarium, KL Bird Park and the KL Butterfly Park. I am sure I missed a few but I mean that is a lot.  It is impossible to see it all in one day.  
If you are looking for a peaceful location to just feel at one with nature this is a perfect location to spend a few hours.
