We had a great visit to the huge Lalaport Japanese Mall in the Bukit Bintang Area of Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. There is so much going on here. A roller skating rink, cat petting facility, food all over the place, stores, Japanese experience etc. Plus there was a Wadaiko Japanese Drum Show for the New Year. So much fun.
First up we need to talk about the architecture of this amazing space. The Lifestyle Mall is a collaboration of Studio Taku Shimizu, IJM Construction (Design & Build Contractor) for BBCC Development & Mitsui Fudosan Asia. The Mall is an Eight story structure with an area of 1,400,000 square feet. As I said huge. But it is a beautiful space filled with light and flow. There is an amazing blurring of the line of indoor and outdoor.
Now there is the interior of Lalaport. There are plenty of places to feel the Japanese style.
Then there is the Cat cafe Puchi Marry located on the 4th floor. The fee is 30myr for 30min or 70myr for a day pass. We had a great half hour playing and petting cats. Definitely worth the money.
All in all this may be one of my new favorite spaces in Kuala Lumpur.
