We had a great time visiting the Inner Harbor in Baltimore Maryland. While there we toured the Historic Ships of Baltimore. There are 4 Ships to Tour for a 1 price ticket or you can choose to tour them individually. (It is a much better deal to tour them on the one price ticket) The tickets are available at each ship or at the USS Constellation’s Museum Gallery located at Pier 1. I highly recommend checking them out.
1st up is the USS Constellation (1854-1955)
A little bit of Information about the the Constellation. The USS Constellation (1854–1955) is a Sloop-of-War currently located at Pier 1 in the Baltimore, Maryland Inner Harbor and is a National Historic Landmark that can be toured as 1 of the Historic Ships of Baltimore.
The Constellation was the last sail-only warship designed and built by the United States Navy and was an integral part in finding and capturing slave trade ships. The ship has been restored and all four decks can be explored.
*Top deck, or spar deck, is where all sailing operations took place
*Spar deck-gun deck with the ship’s main battery of guns, Captain’s Cabin, and Galley
*Berth deck-majority of the crew lived and socialized
*Ship’s hold-food, water, and gear for a crew of 325 was stowed
